Please Note
The Group is anxious to remain on good terms with landowners, farmers and gamekeepers. Walkers joining an organised walk agree to obey the instructions of the leader but nevertheless take responsibility for their own actions. However, all members walk at their own risk.
Dogs must be kept under close control at all times (on a lead if farm animals are present). Be aware that weather conditions can sometimes change unexpectedly, making walking conditions difficult. It is recommended that good supportive walking boots/shoes are worn, also that adequate weatherproof clothing is carried or worn.
Members are reminded that leaders no longer carry a group First Aid Kit and each person is responsible for making his/her own arrangements for first aid when on walk. A list of minimum contents as advised by the Ramblers Association can be obtained from our Secretary.
It is suggested that passengers accepting transport offer the driver a share of the expenses at a rate of 5p per person per mile. A share of toll charges and parking fees will be additional. If the driver does not wish to accept the offer, the money can be donated to our Environment Fund, or other charity as selected. Although we try to arrange and share transport as available, it must be remembered that if you have no personal transport there may be times when there is not enough room to accommodate everyone.
Whereas the Group and walk leaders will do their best to adhere to the listed programme, it might be necessary at times to cancel or change the venue of walks. If in doubt, please contact the walk leader beforehand.
Please note that ‘ambles’ are short walks taken at a leisurely pace.
