Welcome to this site about a fascinating railway!
|
|
The WC&P was an unusual independent light railway linking three North Somerset coastal towns. First planned in 1844, it opened in 1897 and closed in 1940. It was quaint and colourful and was operated on a shoestring. The aim of this web site is to give some idea of what the railway was like, based on old photographs, maps, and photos of today’s scene, and also to show where you can still find glimpses of the line today, and where it ran....
